INFO

Existing
Production Issues
Current farms require large plots of arable land, rely on favorable weather conditions and consume water at rates that are exceeding existing resources. Demand and industrial consolidation have led to the manipulation of plants to the detriment of taste and nutritional value. We are witnessing the inability of current farming methods to maintain consistent production of nutritious food rapidly becoming a worldwide crisis. In the United States, 98% of all lettuce is seasonally grown in California and Arizona. After it is picked and packaged the lettuce makes a 3 to 5-day journey to the East Coast. This and other factors associated with the current supply chain account for overall losses of 40% nationwide.

Current Solutions
Several alternative and more efficient watering methods to reduce waste are currently available. Genetically modified plant variants to improve output have been developed, labeled GMO’s. Seeds have been modified to produce plants that are insect resistant, and some modified to be able to withstand powerful herbicides without affecting crops. These solutions do not fully address the issues and damage the environment by allowing chemical runoff and soil depletion without significantly reducing water consumption. Indoor Hydroponic farming is seen by many to address all the current issues while producing a consistent, year-round harvest free of pesticides and herbicides. Many of these systems are labor intensive and are not easily scalable. Finally, the space required for these systems is doubled to allow for worker access

Our Solution
If agriculture is to continue to feed the world population, it needs to become more like manufacturing: Automated, Robotic, Continuous and Scalable. By employing advanced automation, patented and patent pending techniques, we reduce water and nutrient consumption by 90% over current methods and in many grow locations 100% of the water use will be rain harvested. With our closed, environmentally controlled aseptic grow centers we eliminate the need for pesticides and herbicides while providing continuous, year-round production of a safe, predictable and consistent product with stable pricing. This method also allows us to utilize heirloom seeds which have higher nutritional content combined with exceptional flavors and textures.

BUSINESS MODEL
Mobius Farm’s Grow Systems will be strategically placed in major metropolitan areas allowing same day delivery, harvest to consumer, guaranteeing freshness and as a benefit extending shelf life for both the purveyor and the consumer. Mobius Farm’s Grow Systems are capable of growing, harvesting and packaging 57,600 heads of leafy lettuce per day, 365 days a year from a 65,000 sq. ft. grow center. Each grow center is calculated to produce over $16.8 million in gross revenue per annum with $9.1 million in net profit. Corporate Grow Centers & Licensing agreements for other vegetation such as cannibis and micro greens will enable Mobius Farm Systems to exceed $84M in gross revenue in its first 6-years. Grow Centers will harvest the annual rainfall for up to 100% of its water requirements and take advantage of solar and co-generation power.
